New Deus Ex Story Trailer Released! Check Out the Video Here!

by on May 26, 2016

Square Enix has released a new live-action trailer setting the stage for the dystopic world and story of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. You can check out the new video in the player below. The world has grown even harsher since Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It looks like it will be a tough world to save as it grows further darker and deeper into despair. The “Mechanical Apartheid” video uses live-action footage to set the stage for the world of the game and showcase how bad things are getting between humans and mechanically augmented humans.

The game is set in the future where the conflict between humanity and mechanically augmented people is growing to a tipping point. In 2027, mechanically-augmented people across the globe are suffered from extreme psychotic delusions, lost control of their functions and started attacking people. As a result, millions died and hundreds of thousands more were injured and maimed. This has caused society to become divided by hatred, prejudice and fear. Countries are now enforcing harsh laws against augmented civilians with the Human Restoration Act to isolate “Augs.” This is done to keep them away from “Naturals.” In the video, it looks like the world is starting to become a police state, and innocent augments are being forcibly removed from their homes.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is due out on August 23 for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
