Fire Emblem Fates Getting Mini-Game Removed In US Version! Details Here!

by on January 26, 2016

More and more details are coming out about the upcoming US version of Fire Emblem Fates. The titles, Birthright and Conquest, have been out in Japan for some time now, but will release in the west in a few weeks. Already noted in the change is how a character is written/perceived, as well as confirmation that the same-gender marriages will be still in the games.

Now though, it’s been confirmed by Nintendo that the “petting” mini-game that was shown in Japan will not be in Fates.

“Yes, that is the case [that petting isn’t in the English version]. You might have heard somewhat misinterpreted or exaggerated information about the Japanese original game, but even in the Japanese original version, we have not included any features which are considered inappropriate in Japan.”

The game in question literally allowed you to “pet” your companions to raise their friendship levels. This was seen as offensive to an extent by some, no doubt leading to the removal for the western version. Both versions of Fire Emblem Fates arrive on February 19th.
