Final Fantasy 14 Readies for Gamescom 2024 Eevent
As part of Final Fantasy 14’s Gamescom events, Square Enix has announced a great lineup of events. The official post itself says, “With Dawntrail’s release on August 21-25, we’ve spared no expense and effort to make this show a blast for everyone.”
The floor portion of the event will include a Boss Challenge with a Valigarmanda Boss Challenge shirt as a reward as well as a new player dungeon and a “Stage Program” where players can participate in Extreme Roulette, Valigarmanda, raids, and dungeon runs.

Lead producer and director Naoki Yoshida joins the booth for a few activities.
- Most notably, he’ll be hosting a panel open to players called “Why are you or your friends not playing FFXIV?”
- Plus signing sessions on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th, with tickets three hours before.
- He’ll join attendees for Valigarmanda on the 22nd,
- Then do Trial Roulettes a few times throughout the weekend
Likewise, German Localization lead Pamela Drobig will host her panel “Bridging Language Barriers: A Glimpse Behind the Scenes of FFXIV Localization”
- The event will run two occasions throughout the weekend, with the first part on Thursday the 22nd
- The next event will be on Friday the 23rd.
- There’ll also be a PvP showcase on Sunday, hosted by Yoshida.
Fans who will not be attending Gamescom can still attend the Fan Celebration in Cologne to hear Yoshida speak, enjoy music, and participate in community activities. There are only 500 tickets available via Eventbrite on Monday
The team states that they’re “aware of the high demand for German Fan Celebrations and Gatherings, and are actively looking into hosting additional in-person events throughout the year.”
Square Enix produced Final Fantasy XIV for Windows, its fourteenth entry into the main Final Fantasy series, and the second MMORPG in the series after Final Fantasy XI. It was an original version of the fourteenth entry and the second MMORPG in the series after Final Fantasy XI.
