E3 2016: Find Out the Release Date for South Park: The Fractured But Whole Here!

Ubisoft revealed today at the Ubisoft press briefing at E3 2016 that the highly anticipated sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, will launch later this December for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. You can also check out a new trailer for the game in the player below. The game will hit the shelves on December 6. In addition, players who pre-order the game today will receive a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth they can start playing immediately. All players who purchase the game will get The Stick of Truth at launch, but that’s a limited time gift with purchase expires March 31, 2017.

In Fractured But Whole, the streets of South Park, Colorado have become more dangerous than ever, and the town needs new heroes. Eric Cartman decides to create the best superhero franchise ever, the Coon & Friends, with himself as the leader, The Coon. Players will continue in their role as the New Kid and become a member of Coon & Friends and fight for fame and their place beside the other kids.

Throughout the game, players have to harness their fart-based powers in order to fight crime and become part of the the most marketable superhero franchise ever. Players will need to discover their backstory, assemble unique costumes, and mix and match powers from numerous hero classes to create their own unique hero.

The game was built using Ubisoft Massive’s proprietary engine Snowdrop. The game will also have more places to explore and greater freedom for customizing each gamer’s character. There will be a new combat system to master space and time while on the battlefield. In addition, there’s also a revamped looting and crafting system to allow players the freedom of crafting equipment for battle.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will also be released in four separate editions: Standard, Gold, Steelbook Gold and Collector’s. Here’s the breakdown for all the different editions:

The Standard Edition:
• The complete South Park: The Fractured But Whole game

The Gold Edition (available digitally only) includes:
• The complete game
• The Season Pass
• A set of in-game costumes and a bonus perk to get fans started
• “Towelie: Your Gaming Bud”

A Steelbook Gold Edition (available only at US retail) will include all of the contents of the Gold Edition, as well as:
• A Steelbook case
• A set of physical lithographic prints with art from South Park Studios

The Collector’s Edition includes:
• The complete game
• “Towelie: Your Gaming Bud”
• A set of in-game costumes and a bonus perk to get fans started
• A set of physical lithographic prints with art from South Park Studios
• A 6” replica figurine of “The Coon” by UbiCollectibles and ArtToyz

    Nothing makes me more blissfully and childishly happy than a new south park title. While all these other companies try so hard to make epic and crazy adventures, south park games (stick of truth primarily) are these hilarious adventures that are still totally fun and interactive without having to be so serious, such underrated titles
