Destiny, despite a rough launch and tempered expectations, has gone on to be one of the most popular and successful RPG’s/MMORPG’s in recent video game memory. This has been possible via numerous updates and expansions via developer Bungie. However, the question of a sequel, though presumed to be happening, has never fully been confirmed or realized.
Now, a report from Kotaku, who claims to be very familiar with Bungie and its work process on Destiny, speculates that if Destiny 2 were to come, it wouldn’t be this year due to developmental struggles.
This is not as far-fetched as one may believe, as the original Destiny went through a much detailed overhaul. So much so that contents of the original game and story were later put into the now mega-popular expansion The Taken King. Furthermore, High Moon Studios has been noted to be working with Bungie on the potential sequel, yet, no word of the sequel, or even a teaser to get fans speculating on it, has arrived.
Bungie has not comment on these reports or rumors as of yet. But with fans wondering more and more every day, it may not be too long until some official word is given.
