Cyberpunk 2077 Will Let You Augment Yourself Too Far

by on September 22, 2018

How far can we go in Cyberpunk 2077 in terms of cybernetic modifications? Will there be consequences to that?

One of the freedom’s that Cyberpunk 2077 is aiming to offer gamers isn’t just customization in terms of their players looks, but how far they transform their body from something of flesh, to something of machine. And as Quest Designer Patrick Willis told EDGE Magazine in an interview, you can do that in the game…but it comes with a cost.

“All the travails of the flesh fade away, and you become a perfect machine of chrome. But you had to buy those body parts from someone, and now you’re in debt to them; if you need parts, you’ve got to go to their store. You have this very utopian idea of being liberated by technology. And it’s like, not so fast–you haven’t solved the problems. The problems are still there, and technology actually makes them worse. ‘High tech, low life’ is one of Mike’s [Pondsmith, Cyberpunk 2020 creator] mottos.”

So push yourself as far as you want in the game, but don’t expect it to be an easy ride when you do.
