Conan Exiles to Have Full Mod Support on PC and Player Server Controls! Get All the Details Here!
Funcom officially revealed today some new details for Conan Exiles, and how the game will have player server controls and mod support for the PC version of the game. The server system is a power in-game admin tool that will allow players to control the server and the world around them. There will also be a mod support system for the game on PC.
In Conan Exiles, players will have the option to set up their own dedicates servers using their own hardware or event rent servers through Funcom’s official server partner PingPerfect. When they find the right server for their preferred play style, they can use the Community Filter when they start player. This will enable gamers to find a home they are most comfortable with that includes other players. Categories will include Hardcore, Role-Play, Casual, etc.
Conan Exile gamers who run their own server will have access to a very powerful server control system, where they can alter different aspects of the gameplay experience as they see fit. Options include toggle PvP, turn off avatars, disable the sandstorm, choose what players lose when they die, control the day/night cycle, resource yield, and much more. Additionally, server admins can easily make changes to settings in-game instantly and then quickly see those changes; without even using a full-blown server restart. The server admins will even have access to the full-featured in-game developer tool that allows them to spawn any item available in the game, from weapons to building pieces and resources. This tool even triggers god mode, and it can let players themselves invisible, teleport around the game world, spawn monsters and NPCs, disable hunger/thirst, and much more.
Speaking on the news, Creative Director Joel Bylos stated: “The great thing about these games is that you can play them however you want. You can easily set up a server and play with your friends, and with our in-game controls you can simply adjust all aspects of your play experience to suit your playstyle whether that is turning off thirst, spawning a huge monster, or stop the day/night cycle. If you want to play all by yourself locally, you have access to the very same controls.”
On top of that, Funcom confirmed the game will have full mod support on Windows PC. The mod support is set to be available for the game when it hits early access later this month. Mod developers will be able to download a custom Unreal Engine editor and make various modifications to the game. Types of modifications include new monsters and items and changing aspects of gameplay. There will also be a mod management tool which connects to the Steam Workshop. This will enable players to easily load in the mods they want to play with. Funcom is going to announce more information on the mod system and tools later on.
Conan Exiles will be available on Windows PC via Early Access on January 31. It will then be available as an Xbox One Game Preview title in Spring of this year.
