Blizzard Entertainment released a new Developer Update video this week for Overwatch, offering a year in review for the popular game. You can check out the new video in the player below.
In the video, game director talked about looking ahead to 2017 for Overwatch. According to Kapaln, the new map, Oasis, will get a full release early in 2017. The game is currently available in the public test realm in beta for Windows PC. Additionally, Kaplan revealed that the development team is working on some new customization options, specifically for the sprays and communication wheels.
Speaking on what’s to come, Kaplan stated, “Right now we have a lot of great functionality in the custom game feature, but not everybody knows that you’re running a custom game.” He also added, “We tend to work on more content than we release because we prototype stuff and sometimes it fails or we don’t like it or we wanna go back to the drawing board.” Kaplan also hinted at multiple new playable characters being in the works for the game. Some of the new heroes, maps and modes that being created by the development team are in progress, but it’s possible not all of them will get a release.
Overwatch is available now for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
