The new action RPG, The Surge, is finally out after a multi-platform release. In acknowledgement of that release, Focus Home Interactive has put out a new “Accolades” trailer for the game, which you can check out for the new Deck13 game in the player below.
It seems the game has gotten decent reviews overall, and players are quite taken by the game’s dynamic limb-targeting system that allows players to upgrade their powers for their exosuits. Additionally, Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive also confirmed with the release of the new trailer that there will be a post-launch roadmap showing what’s coming to the game in the near future. That’s definitely exciting to hear the game might have some new post-launch content.
The Surge is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Here’s an official synopsis (Courtesy of Focus Home Interactive):
Set in a heavily dystopian future as Earth nears the end of its life, those who remain in the overpopulated cities must work to survive as social programs become saturated by an aging population and increasing environmental diseases. As the intelligence of technology incrementally increased over the years, many jobs for the human race had been made redundant, forcing Earth’s citizens to head out into the suburbs seeking labor, aided by exoskeletons to improve their efficiency. The world of The Surge offers a very grim vision of the future, where the evolution of our technology, our society and our relation with the environment led to a decadent state of the Human civilization.
The Surge features innovative combat mechanics and an original character progression system based on modular upgrades gained through tight, visceral combat. Be sure to stay tuned for more about The Surge over the coming months!
