The release date for the new Prey reboot is very nigh. Bethesda Softworks officially released the second gameplay trailer this week for the upcoming reboot for Prey from Arkane Studios. You can check out the new gameplay footage in the player below. Additionally, Bethesda has confirmed the official release date for the game in May. Prey will hit the shelves on Friday, May 5, 2017.
Players in Prey take the role of Morgan Yu, who has to fight his way against an infestation of Typhon aliens and unravel the mysteries behind this menace along with his own identity. The new gameplay trailer offers a deeper look into the tenuous world and the main conflict of the Prey reboot.
The game starts with Morgan Yu awakening on board the Talos I in the year 2032. The Talos I is a large space station that’s orbiting the moon. Yu has become the key subject of a special experiment that seeks to alter the human race forever. However, things then go horribly wrong. The space station that is the Talos I becomes overrun by hostile aliens, which start hunting Yu. Yu then has to survive the threat using tools he finds on the station in order to stop the alien threat.
Additionally, Bethesda confirmed a pre-order bonus for the game with the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack. The bonus features a family heirloom for Yu with a Margrave shotgun and some tools he can use to fight on the Talos I, including three Neuromods players can spend to acquire new abilities, two Medkits, a Fabrication plan to create the Shotgun and Ammo, a starter kit for building tools and weapons, and a unique upgrade to help players preserve their limited resources.
Prey hits the shelves on May 5. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
