CastleStorm VR Hits Oculus and Samsung Gear! Get the Details Here!

by on July 7, 2016

Zen Studios officially announced today the release of the new tower defense/action-RPG/RTS game CastleStorm VR is now available for Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear, powered by Oculus. This is the virtual reality entry for the CastleStorm franchise.

The game is a genre mashup of 2D physics destruction together with a tower defense brawler. Players take to the battlefield and casting their swords against enemies such as knights, soldiers, archers and griffins for castle vs. castle combat. In terms of the VR hardware and capabilities for the game, the VR allows players to go right into the field of battle for CastleStorm. With the VR headset, players will be able to hear arrows whizzing by, battle cries, galloping horses and ballista shots.

It’s good to see some new VR games rolling out right now. However, even a game like CastleStorm VR seems a bit over-priced for $24.99. Especially when it comes off like a free-to-play mobile game. But it might work a lot better in practice as a VR title.

CastleStorm VR is available now for Oculus Rift for $24.99 and Samsung Gear VR, powered by Oculus, for an introductory launch price of $9.99. You can also check out a trailer for the VR version of the game below.
