As previously reported, Nordic Games is partnering up with Airship Syndicate to offering more financing to the upcoming planned Battle Chasers: Nightwar video game. As a result, the game will get a full console release along with a lot more bells and whistles that were originally set for the game’s stretch goals for the original Kickstarter campaign. Nordic Games has also released a new trailer for the game, showing the progress of the game and some new gameplay footage, which you can check out in the player below.
One noticeable element is that there looks to be some 2D animated cutscenes of some type in the game. Per the deal with Nordic Games, the Battle Chasers game will be fully voiced and will have story cutscenes added in. It’s at least nice to see the characters back in such a dynamic form. Battle Chasers had a promising start, so maybe this game can restart the franchise in some ways.
Battle Chasers: Nightwar will be an RPG done in the style of a classic JRPG format. The game will feature story-driven exploration, deep dungeon diving and turn-based combat. The game is scheduled for a late 2016 release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One Windows PC and Mac.
