Running all of my games on my old

    MBD Asus Striker II Extreme
    Q6600 @ 3.40 Ghz
    4*4 Corsair...something RAM
Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 OCed 1 GB GDDR5
    Keyboard/Mouse Logitec MK320 Wireless (hey,they work,that's enough for me :D)
    40" Samsung LCD
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

    Running LL@1920x1080@Very High|SSAA off@~ 50-60 FPS.

    Cost: Can't remember.

Overall FPS in games...well,it depends. But i usualy play all my games Vsynced,so i'd say max is 60. The only game i haven't been able to run at playable framerate so far is Crysis 3. But it's Crysis so i wouldn't cry much about that. :D

    Intel i7 3770k
Nvidia 670 superclocked to 4gb and it's clock speed is faster than the new 780
    16gb ram
    1tb HDD

Runs everything on max like a beast. Sadly I had to buy a new monitor during the build because my older one was too old and didn't have a DVI port.

Damn man, how are the 7970Ms? I almost got that setup but my local Micro Center didn't have them, and I ended up getting a laptop with a GTX 670M. It isn't too bad.

BFG (rip!) GTX 280, got it the week it came out in 2008, used it to play metro on my old C2D (lol 20fps) and used it with my i7 2600k to play last light. This puppy still holds it's own and did last light justice, even at 2560X1440! The stock cooler is kaput though so I replaced it with an aftermarket one and it's like new and overclocked.

I knew that $650 would pay off eventually!

After finally getting a job with decent hours and better than normal pay, I naturally had to throw it all away on a machine that I hoped would last me for a while. (so I can say goodbye to my laptop's HD4k)

    Juicy Stuff:
Asus DirectCU II 660 ti 2GB
    FX 6300
    2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz RAM
    Asus M5A99 FX Pro

    Boring Stuff:
    Corsair Carbide 200R Case
    Corsair 750W Power Supply
    Seagate 2 TB SSHD
    BenQ GW2255 21.5 inch 1080p monitor

Wanted to have a system that wouldn't become "obsolete" within a few years, and had good bang-for-buck value. Wanted MB with good OC capabilities and room for a second card for easy future upgrading, and wanted the PSU to support it. Got almost everything on sale, total was a bit short of $700. Later found out that my old HDD I salvaged had a write speed of less than 50 MB/s, making even 720p video capture impossible, so I nabbed the SSHD for about a $100 and the monitor on sale for $120 because I saw a friend gaming at 1080p and decided to replace my old 900p monitor.

Surprisingly, the 660ti is enough to max most games if you ignore AA (because of the binned memory bus). Also, surprisingly enough, the 660 ti was discontinued shortly after I bought it, so...shit.

Oh, and I also stupidly bought an $80 water cooler. The radiator barely fits in my case (I don't think it's supposed to), but since I got it for a really good price and already had it installed, I kinda stuck with it. The only game where I really get a performance increase with an OC is Starcraft 2, and I kinda got burned out of that game.

At least your water-cooling system actually fits into your case. Mine was ghettoly made at home with the help of my dad and it frigin huge! Just imagine my cooling system being equivalent in size to that of that of an early computer.:p

Congrats on your new system, by the way.

Technically, it really shouldn't. The radiator has barely enough room to fit offset from the center of the top of the case it's supposed to-you know what, nevermind. It's ghetto but works.

And thanks. Was surprisingly really fun to research and put together.

I played 2033 and Last Light on this hell of a machine:

    Intel Pentium B960
    AMD Radeon HD 7610m
    4 GB DDR3 @1333 MHz
    500 GB 5400RPM

it did run good, sometimes it was unplayable though.

It scales decently; you could play both games at about steady 30 FPS on an HD4000, provided you're alright with 800x600.....

Looking at gpu benchmarks, I'm guessing you were at least able to pull off 1386x768, maybe even 720p (unless you were like me when I was younger and just turned everything up for eye candy and suffered through the headaches :p).

Haha man, I've tried to run it @1366x768, I've set it on that res but the resolution did not change. This, however, was fixed in Update 4. But then, it started lagging like hell haha. Well anyway, I've finished LL with Good ending for the first time, I'm so proud on me haha. Anyway, I'm going to try turning it on 800x600, to see what FPS i'd squeaze out of this calc.
