All I know so far, is that he worked with Discovery Channel on the Battle of Chernobyl documentary. You can hear him here at 27 minutes and 15 seconds, for instance: Find a name that's listed both in Metro 2033 and this documentary credits.
His voice fits perfectly for that as well I guess he's talented. A thing that kind of bugs me about the difference between russian and english narrator/Artyom in the game, is that the russian has a deep and powerful voice, while the english seems more calm and thoughtful. Artyom also seems more hardcore in the cutscenes and such than he does in the book, where he's basically just a kid trying to save the world.
I have to agree with you there. The Russian voice seemed too old for a 20-year-old kid who's hardly left his home station. But it's great that they had the options for the different languages, I hope they keep that for the next one! His voice is quite good in this video, too. They'd better keep him!
There are no names in the documentarties translators that are also in 2033s voice talent in the credits
His voice is old because he is old. He writes his memoires that you read in your head in his voice while sitting in his stepfather's "office".
Like darkbringer said, the english voice sounds more soft and thoughtful but the russian one was too gruff imo
Well i played metro 2033 basically on russian voice settings with english-subs wich i really didnt need at all. I heard Artyom voice in english only while playing with my friend wich doesnt understand russian as good as i do. So i really like the russian voice acting than the englsih one, but the accent in english one is kinda awesome. Btw i found this link while seaching in google for Artyom voice actor so maybe one of them could be him. Im to lazy to see everyones biography to see wich one is he voice of Atyom : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1675746/
Wiser man I very much enjoyed the english version of Artyom's voice. It gives that errie calmness as he tells his story about surviving through all the horror. It's like a much more older wiser man retelling his events, heck he might be the next Khan. "Even the apocalyples didn't stop us from killing one another over ideology" best line from the game.
Btw: Who is the voice actor of Bourbon? I'm playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow right now and one character (Pan) has a familiar voice. I think it's Bourbon's or Khan's but I'm not sure...
Artyom's Voice Actor I think it may be sven holmberg (?) who plays artyom. I very well could be wrong but he's the only name I see credited for voice work in both 2033 and last light. I would assume they would keep the same voice for the main character if any of them right?
Idk I just looked it up on IMDB as I don't have access to any info from the second game and can't find any listing for who did what characters in the first on the net. Bout to check the credits of the game here in a sec to see if it lists them there. Edit: yup, I'm stumped, no specifics in the credits of the game, just says voice talent and lists them alphabetically. Can't find jack for the Documentary's russian - english VO actor, just the main narrator. So either it's him and he's good at changing his voice a bit (was also nikolai in MW2) or it's someone else who's not listed for the new game yet. Maybe they didn't want people to find out or something, lol.
I've been looking as well for awhile, but no luck so far. as Komodo said in the previous page, Artyom's english voice is done by the same person who spoke as the englsih voice of Igor Kostin in the documentary 'The Battle of Chernobyl'. I need to check it, and when I do, I'll report back.
