Steam loophole resulted in hacked accounts

    Right folks, for a few days there was a strange loophole in Steam's password recovery system that made hacking other users' accounts pathetically easy. You might wanna check if you can log on and see if you have any notifications in your e-mail inbox. The issue is fixed now but a number of accounts have been affected.

  2. Yep, I've heard. It's a fuckup alright.

    Neither me nor anyone I know was affected by this though.

    Same here. I'm guessing most of the pricks who would have taken advantage of this probably didn't even find out about it until after it was fixed.

    Exactly. I'm not a fan of Steam customer support (it's almost nonexistent, though it becomes much less important now that we can be refunded), but the decision to keep this quiet until it was fixed was actually good.
