When I play a game for a long time I always get bored and I never go back to it. I haven't played the game for like 8 months.
Well that just means it is time to pick it back up then. That is usually how I think at least and makes me come back around.
I used to play it almost everyday for months but eventually left. But I keep coming back every few months I don't know why. The last time I played it was yesterday
This question is blasphemous! Of course, I still play Skyrim. What is wrong with Skyrim especially when you have mods for every playstyle, story, and occasion. Skyrim is Life! Skyrim is everything! On a more serious note though, Skyrim is a wonderful game with so many possibilities.
Well blasphemy seems a bit strong, but catch me at a good time or in the middle of playing and maybe I would agree. In all seriousness though there are a lot of people I know who take the game pretty seriously so I can see this sentiment a bit.
I was actually joking when I used the term blasphemy. I still do play it and is still my favorite game to play because the Skyrim modding community is constantly pushing the boundaries. The only real downside to Modding Skyrim is the amount of time it takes to actually get the mods to all work together. Then using Wyre Bash and tes5edit to create patches so that incompatible mods can co-exist - it really is exhausting! I am running roughly 500 mods for the old Skyrim and 100 for Special Edition.
I have stopped playing skyrim and minecraft. Not much playing them these days. I have other things to do and learn for . So mostly ditched it for other games.
I used to wonder the same think myself, how do people still play Skyrim after completing the main story. I found out that the secret is in Quest mods and mods in general.
I don't think most people care for the MQ. This is definitely not one of those games with a focus on the story, and the writing is just not very good in general. Bethesda seems to be going backwards in that regard, as I think Morrowind has/had better writing.
The main quest is tedious and has no replay value whatsoever. However, with mods, Skyrim's replay value is exponential. I cannot begin to tell you the number of times I have replayed Skyrim and still can't get enough.
I redownload and play my save file from time to time using steam. I play it when I miss it but I somehow grew tired of playing this game because I've had lots of playthrough in this game already. I've tried lots of builds and almost all the good sidequests already.
I wouldn't call it tedious but it certainly isn't anything special. I've been playing the game since 2011 with only a few mods. Vanilla Skyrim already has a lot of replayability.
