Well, I decided to check out some Russian Metal, so here's a thread to discuss it! The first band I checked out was Alkonost, which is folk-metal. It's not very heavy, which is good for my own tastes. It's hauntingly beautiful, really nice.
My russian metal bands is only as far as Stalker has taken me :/ ...And those where Ukrainian... But they are real heavy and nice though I don't really like the singing tho
I don't really think the lyrics matter to much. For me all that matters is how the song sounds and flows, ex. I love to listen to Rammstein even thou I don't understand half the lyrics, but it sounds good on the ears and that's what should matter.
It's not the lyrics that I don't like, it's just the hoarse voice that they're sung in. When I think about it, most of my favorite heavy metal is sung in non-English languages, like Italian, German, and Russian.
Oh-oh-oh,so you take the red pill, huh? I'll show you then... Rhapsody of Fire -Symphonic Power Metal: Folkstone -Folk Metal: If you want i can give you the lyrics of these ones anyway,to get back IT ,this is the russian music i like!!! This could wake up your Russian Patriotism even though you were the greatest russian hater ever:
Look for Lacuna Coil, though most of their songs is in english (their target is the american audience)
My "zen" friend in class, who detests metal, has been converted. I gave him some Alkonost, and he loves it. Good taste.
I am not so much in STALKER,so if someone can tell me,what is connection between metal group Firelake and the game STALKER? I played STALKER SoC,but never finished though, because of the big bug in the half of the game.
They made the credit song to Call of Pripyat: And also this song is in one of the game although I don't rember which game or where in the game it is but it's in there somewhere. They also made the combat music: That song is also I think in Sidorovich radio albeit simplified.
Oh Stalker song you say... good old times (my favorite)
This is where my moderating skill comes in. Mwa ha ha! Anyway, I've started checking out Rhapsody of Fire's earlier CDs, and I'm finding some nice tunes there. Definitely recommend to anyone who like symphonic/epic metal.
This isn't Russian, it's an English band and they don't usually play metal (this song really isn't even that metal-y) but I thought you would enjoy it.
