What Persona games have you all played if any and did you enjoy them?

I have only played Persona 4 which I thought was absolutely wonderful even if it did kind of feel dumb at certain points and really wanted a Vita for the simple fact that it had P4: Golden on it. With the anouncement of Persona 5 being on the PS3 instead of the PS4 I am really anticipating something good and hope I am right.

I have played... Persona 1 (a bit of both PSX and PSP versions), Persona 3 (FES and Portable) and Persona 4 (PS2 and Golden both). I've played P3 and P4 multiple times at this point, heh. I've also of course played the fighting game, Persona 4 Arena, because I love Persona AND fighting games.

My favorite is definitely Persona 4, especially when you consider the Golden version and it's many many additions. I believe it was also my first, though? My memory is so bad that I don't remember if I played P4 before P3 or not, sadly.

I have been trying to beat Persona 1 on the PSP because I want to play Persona 2 (both parts) and they are direct sequels, but Persona 1's story isn't that great and the combat is awful. The encounter rate is also ridiculously high, which goes really badly with the awful combat system. At least the awful localization of the PSX version (which I didn't beat either) made things funny enough to look forward to.

And yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to Persona 5! I hope they use Catherine-style graphics for it, like they are doing with Persona 4 Dancing All-Night, because that particular art-style looks beautiful.

I played the original Persona game on the PS1. Sadly, I didn't play Persona 2: Judgement though. Personas 3 and 4 I own.

Honestly, I own most of the Shin Megami Tensei games, not just the Persona ones.

I've never played any Persona games but I've played Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne that had Dante in it. It was an awesome RPG, I've heard that the Persona games are very good but so far I've been unable to try them out yet.

Nocturne is truly glorious, yes. Superior dungeon design to Persona, since they aren't randomly generated, too.

Nocturne is good like Narukami said, But also, you should check out Digital Devil Saga. It's longer than Nocturne considering it's a two part series. And the game also has one of those "deeper meanings" to the story kind of things going for it.

Digital Devil Saga is definitely good too, yes. I haven't beat either game though, sadly. The Raidou games are great too, featuring a more actiony combat system. The 2nd game has a much better combat system. But it's a sequel so it's worth playing the first one too, of course.

Hell, every SMT game is good except like... Demikids and crap.

I never played the Raidou Kuzunoha sequel. But it's hard to compare that game to Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga since the battle system is so free roaming in comparison.

And if you're really a SMT fan, you should check out the old anime from the 80's, Doomed Megalopolis. If you can't find that, there is a Persona anime out as well.

Yeah, the combat in Raidou is very different but it still feels like a Megaten game. Very good, definitely recommend the sequel if you enjoyed the first one. The combat is a lot better.

I've been meaning to check out the Persona 4 Animation just because it changes how some stuff happened, especially the battles, so it might be interesting. I watched the Kanji shadow fight at least, that was great.

I've played Persona 4. I really do like it, and the characters are to my liking. My friend had it and when I tried playing it, it was awesome. It's the only game I bought though, don't know about the others.

I enjoyed every Persona game I played, so I am not going to pick one and claim it as the best, rather I am going to mention all and rank them based on how much I enjoyed the games.

2 had the story, characters, mutations, desperation skills, subquests, estoma, and fusion spells (and the casino).

3 had the setting, monster design and FES (and evokers)4 had the music, voice acting and writing (and gameplay improvements from P3).

1 had the Snow Queen quest (which I will never attempt again!), quick and easy grinding and estoma (and the casino).

Each had their goods and bads. P1 may be the game I liked least, but I enjoyed it enough to play it 2 times from start to finish. :)

I still haven't been able too play through Persona 1, the combat is lame and the encounter rate is ridiculously high so it feels like a chore... the story doesn't seem to be that good either. Persona 2 at least makes for the gameplay flaws with its story.

I haven't played Persona 1 but I played 2,3,4 and the Golden and also Q. I really like 3 to Q, it was fun and really funny when you try to interact with them especially if you want to date someone. I also want to play Persona 1 but I really don't like the graphics and I learned that the combat system was not that good.

I've played all of the Persona games. P1 was alright, but definitely the worst one in the series in my opinion, to be honest. I played P2, both parts, and liked them a bit more, but they still were pretty 'meh'... Better than the first one though, so I'll give them that. I always tell fans of P3 & P4 that are interested in playing the first ones that they need to keep in mind they are EXTREMELY different; they may as well be a different franchise in my opinion, really.

Persona 3 is where the series really starts taking off, and Persona 4 Golden is my top favorite in the series thus far. I can't wait for 5!
