No sound at all !

    When i start the game there is no sound at all. Even the windows 7 volume mixer dosent detect the application. Any help ? I dont have problems with other games, this happens for me for a first time.

    This is probably a stupid question and suggestion, and it probably doesn't even work, but have you tried checking the sound volume in the game-options?

    He said the sound works in other games. Obviously there's no problem with his hardware.

    Two options:
    If that doesn't work, try this:
    TLDR; Start Last Light and then see if you can find option in the volume mixer for Last Light without exiting Last Light first.

    i had audio in everything bar empire total war till i updated my drivers so you never know :O

    "Allow applications to execute .... etc" was already ticked. And the second option you gave me. Yes when i play any sound, is it from google chrome or any other application it appears in the volume mixer. The problem is when i start metro last light it dosent even detects it as a application that makes any sound and it dosent appear in the volume mixer. I tryed to update the drivers and it says i have the latest drivers. Every other application sound is working. Only metro is having problems.

    by any chance you got one of these strong software firewalls?
    they sometimes "block" the game or application from access certain resources (like comodo firewall with +defense)

    can you post an screenshot of the details of your sound devices?
    sometimes qwhen you have a motherboard and a soundcard.. windows tries to send some sound to one device and others to other device..
    it happened in my cmputer once..
    because I have my xonar DX on spif out (thus no mic) so I have my motherboard's audio as well for the mic..
    and also almost all video cards now have HDMI audio and its own processing thingie... so it counts it as yet another sound device.

    The sound card is one with the motherboard its not separated. This is the information in the device menager.

    Same problem here. No sound in game.
    No bugs in device manager, drivers are up to date, other progams and games are fine.
    Also not showing up in the volume mixer.

    Any solutions yet?

    hey guys, the answer to this question has been answered already actually.

    I had the same problem, all you need to do is play some music (windows media player for example) and then play the game. After it's fixed you can go back to your desktop (ctrl+alt+dlt) and stop the music and go back to your game c:

    I can't believe anyone hasnt commented on this yet.

    I am STILL having this problem.
    It dosnt help by having windows media player running some music and then start the game.

    Please, is there another solution to this??
