Metro: Last Light - Commander's Survival Diary http://uk.ign.com/videos/2012/12/05...=Social&utm_medium=General&utm_campaign=Metro "Genisis" Gameplay Trailer December 11th. Mark your diary and prepare to be dazzled!!!
Why did he close the doors? To minimum the ammount of survivors so there'd be a bigger chance for those who had gotten through?
No mate. To keep the the blast out... He was trying to save those they could, but by doing that he condemned those on the surface to death, and those below to life in a new hell. "They call me dog. Traitor. Murderer." Family members would be trapped on both sides of the door, and now government and order have crumbled along with the city above, the Commander is seen as the man responsible for it all. Grim stuff. I'm english and it comes across in the english subtitles very well, but maybe its a little harder to follow in a second language. For those interested, the medal on the Commander's chest is for 20 years impecable service in the armed forces. He was good at his job.
Could be loads of reasons, that's why the production of it was so good. It leaves the viewer questioning why he did it and the story of those who once had power, status and influence become the opposite after 20 years in the Metro. Didn't he take in Baby Arytom though in the film?
Hello, everyone. : ) New member. Just thought I'd share my mind. I don't think that was baby Artyom, like I also thought it was from the "Enter the Metro" trailer. I was curious as to how much they changed from the book, but Artyom was in the Metro with his mother, at the very least, in the book. Before... things happened and Alex/Sukhov was in charge of taking care of Artyom. Boy is this grim, though. This is how he's rewarded for following orders and saving all those he could... And I'm sure he was also considering the lack of resources as well. Too many people and nobody would've survived from over consumption of food and natural resources.
Yeah, you're right - the main reason is because of limited food & resources. I remember that being mentioned a couple of times in the books.
