Has anyone heard of this little gem coming out by Ubisoft? If not, take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-QqDsvQHXo Let me know what you think!
It looks like its going to be great! It'd be nice to see something apocalyptic, but not involving zombies, mutants, or things like that. Just straight-up realism.
Looking good, but it has been done a few times, back on PS2. SOS: The Final Escape http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disaster_Report Still, this one looks very good.
Yes I've been following its development for some time now before the XBOX House party announcements. They discussed this in Friday night's episode of Invisible Walls as one of the guys on that had played it. It sounds like they have some good ideas in there, but some of it doesn't sound too great. I like that it's more of a survival action game. For instance, at the start you're doing all of this Uncharted-like traversal and climbing, but unlike in Uncharted, you have a stamina bar. If the bar gets low and you run out of stamina, you can mash the right trigger to do a kind of "desperate fight for life" thing so you don't fall to your death, but doing that will decrease the size of the overall stamina bar. Also, the AI sounds cool in places, but bad in others. For instance, if you come across a bunch of guys that are about to attack you, even if you have no bullets for your gun, sometimes just pulling out the gun and pointing it at them will have them backing off and saying "woah, don't shoot", so in that respect it's more realistic than most games where guys just run at you seemingly not caring that you could blast them in the face with a machine gun. But, they did also mention that the AI is poor in places, so for example you might be in the situation I mentioned where you threaten them with a gun with no bullets in it, but as soon as you put the gun away they run at you, then you pull it out again and they're all "woah, don't shoot" again, then put the gun away and they run at you again, and so on. They said that it can really take you out of the game and seem a bit silly. Overall I think it sounds pretty cool though, because you're in an apocalyptic-type situation where you have to manage the resources you can get your hands on, rather than just finding conveniently placed crates packed full of ammo right before you meet the guys you have to shoot. Oh and the reason it was cut down to a downloadable game was because they didn't feel that it would be financially successful enough. The original game they planned to create would have cost about $60 million, but they had a re-think and scrapped that idea. I would have loved for it to be a retail game, but then I can see where Ubisoft are coming from. But I'll defo be picking this gem up. I think it's 1200 MSP which is about £7.
Looks and sounds better and better. But I'm a real cheap gamer, might get it when it's down to 800 points (or less!)
this game is "still alive"? lol remember watching the trailer like decades ago and havent heard anything yet xD
I think it's still alive but I havn't heard any news from it in a couple months.
I've played the demo of this. While it definitely looks like a good game, I can't imagine any replayablity, so I'll wait for it to become cheaper.
