Life without technologies or computers would be considerably less complicated, I'd think. So much of my time is surrounded by software, that it's truly sad.

However, on the flip-side of this, it would also be more complicated. I do rely on my computer for....everything.

It would be a pretty boring life, but I'd manage. At least we would all be healthier.

Of course you wouldn't be here. Trust me, a world without the Internet would be livable, it's just that you don't know how it would be like if you lived in one because it just didn't happen. I personally think that a world without the Internet would be massively better.

I'm old enough to remember life before the internet. It really wasn't bad! The occasional time where we have been without internet (moving between houses, for example) wasn't totally hateful. Sometimes, unplugging is a beautiful thing, but we are a society that is so plugged in, we don't quite know how to function without it now.

Funny story, this summer there was a massive power outage at work. We're retail, so we couldn't scan purchases into the point of sale system, we couldn't write up anyone for services, we could only scan credit cards on the back-up handheld units, and we had to hand write the receipts and hope that the price stickers were correct.

Well on word that comes to mind right away is SCARY. It is very very difficult to image something like that at this point (as I type on a computer of course) with everything that we are exposed to. I suppose I would have a much better relationship with people around town like bankers and store merchants, so that might be a good upside.

Very different! I mean obviously, you'd cope, but I think I'd get bored and end up reading 35328 books a week! Maybe I'd exercise more and study harder- or just find other ways to put stuff off.

I imagine my life would be difficult without it. For one, I work online and so taking technology away would also mean taking that away from me. My family relies so much on my earnings online even though it's not much so again, they would also be affected. I don't spend my time online or on the laptop just to socialise or play games, my career is there as well.

Having said that, I communicate with far away loved ones with the use of the internet and gadgets. So that can also hinder our communication. I've built friendships online as well so without it, our friendship will be gone because they're far away as well.

If I had my current life without technology, I couldn't do anything I needed to do. It's the only way I can do school, contact my friends and loved ones, etc. Although, if I grew up never having any of these things, I would be a completely different person.

I actually spent most of my childhood without a computer or anything really besides the television(which I didn't really watch because we didn't have cable.) I'd spend all day reading. Reading whatever I could get my hands on, from Dante to Harry Potter. Though if we're talking no technology at all I'd probably be out working the cotton field or whatever it was people did before we invented convenience.

I actually got to experience a time when technologies weren't as developed as they are now and back then it was much harder to get information. I'd say it would be very hard for me to go back to that but I'm guessing I wouldn't be too sad about it either. I think I could find a few ways to keep myself entertained and stimulated but I've definitely gotten spoiled by today's standards.

I grew up without gadgets or internet as well, not even cable tv! I remember that summers were pretty boring if we don't have swimming lessons. We just stay at home, me and my sister, watching television all day. Haha. I wonder what we'll do now if we don't have internet.

It actually scares me a little how dependent I've gotten in the past few years. I barely even watch tv anymore these days because all I watch are youtube videos mostly. I still think I can function a lot better than the average person if left without internet though because I do have a few hobbies that I can go back to that are totally independent of online activities.

I'd be vehemently inventing the computer or other technologies due to sheer boredom, most likely. Being social is fun, but so is ratchet and clank. I'm just sayin.

WE all have gotten dependent to internet. I think it's not so much the thought of losing it but the thought of not being able to work without it, since my work is online. I think we have survived our childhood without it so we can survive again as adults without it. But if I cannot earn money, how do we even survive day to day life?

This is true. I make my income online as well so this is a very scary thought for me as well. I like to think I'm good at adapting so I'm hoping if that ever happens I will be fine in searching for a non tech job but I don't think I will enjoy it as much.

Really nice thread. I think I'd be some kind of sportsman... a boxer or a soccer player ( because my actual career is IT related and without the internet it may not exist as I know it ). If not, I'd be living of my crops and be some kind of a mountain hermit, haha.

That's such a nice trait you have there, being able to adapt well. As for me, I stay at home to take care of my family so really, working online is my only way of earning money. I am very thankful for the advent of online jobs or else I wouldn't be making any money at all.

Probably boring, haha. Also I wouldn't have a job or even be able to contact all of my friends. I am very happy with my technologically cushioned lifestyle, thanks. :D

If I would have no computers or technology I would want to be out in a farmland country style area. If I am going to live without the technology id like to make good use of the land and have a beautiful surroundings around me. I would want animals and nature etc.

I wouldn't have my home business without technology. With that being said though I have lived without technology and survived just fine. I don't have a cell phone because I think it is to distracting. Would my life be worst without it, no I would just find things to do.
