I'm not a fan of the original Dragon soul system in Skyrim in terms of the Dragon souls only being used for unlocking shouts so I started to look for mods that added a passive boost to stats the more Dragon souls you had. The mods I love to use are Truly Absorb Dragon Souls, True Dragonborn Strength, Dragon Disciple and Dragon Disciple 2. These Skyrim Mods make my character feel like a demi-god with the strength of a Dragon. What Dragon Soul passive mods do you use to boost your character's strength.
Isn't the game a bit too easy already without all that ? I'm fine with how the system works so I don't use any mods for that.
I play my Skyrim game with Frostfall, Revenge of the enemies, Deadly Dragons among other mods which increases the difficulty of the game exponentially so these mods are very much useful and besides, it gives the dragon soul a purpose other than purchasing shouts with it. I always found it strange that you can absorb a dragon's soul but never gain any powers from it. And according to the Elder Scrolls Lore, dragons are some of the most powerful beasts in the story, so how can you gain the soul of such a powerful creature yet you don't gain any abilities from it.
Fair enough then. The only problem that I see with that, is that dragons spawn randomly so if you kill too many of them, it will lead to your character becoming quite overpowered.
Just trying to kill a dragon with deadly dragons alongside other dragon mods makes a normal Dragon fight last for up to an hour so being overpowered isn't a concern at all. I also have a personal mod which I created a race with this same ability but the difference is they can also absorb normal souls as well and it grants my character different abilities. I based that race on Alucard from Castlevania that gained the powers of the souls he absorbed. I plan to add some more interesting powers to that race before I put it out on the Nexus though.
Yeah, and I always end up having to resurrect followers because they usually die within the first couple minutes - sometimes one-shotted by a Dragon. I have to be using magic barriers, teleporting all over the place and using the dragon shout dash just to dodge a great deal of those attacks. The funniest part is when I see a guard running in all brave and BAM! he's dead.
I also discovered another one called ks dragons overhaul that is more lightweight than Deadly dragons but it has almost all the same functionalities. It adds a few new attacks and animations to dragons as well to make the fights even more entertaining.
