The Spider Lair mission was my favorite of the whole game, it explains that there are many smaller bunkers like D6 waiting to be found, but if you don't come prepared you will have a bad outcome.

 

As I've written in a post earlier in this thread, I love how you make this epic journey and survive all that stuff for so long, your life barely hanging from a thin thread. You even get teased by being shown the blending light above you, as if god himself was reaching down to you with his holy light to save you, then you have to go back into the tunnels. And when you finally reach the surface, it seems so beautiful and you finally feel safe at last, then you die in the end anyway
