The fact that Bungie has map packs would be enough to put me off their games. However, I did really like Combat Evolved. It wasn't revolutionary like many people say it was (all of that stuff was on PC for years already), but it was still a great game. Halo 2 was pretty good too, but the PC port reduced some of its quality.

 

I don't mind map packs. They're a lot cheaper than all other packs in other games and they offer more maps. Remember that any multiplayer game will have map packs no matter what.

Also you never really need to buy map packs for Halo since they always ship with more maps than you can count.

 

Thats why i like games like Far sob 3 because they come with map editors for they give you a unlimited amount of maps

 

No one really uses it and no one really plays user created maps.

 

That's totally why RO2 has more people on unoffical maps than offical.....
The reason companies don't include those things is so they can sell map packs and the like.

 

But you got to admit imagine for a second being able to make your own station in last light? also its a ballsy move to say "Huh map packs who needs em" (When i create maps i like giving the map a sense of histroy and creativity not to reduce campers for i never upload them)

 

That's RO2 though. All the review guys on youtube state that everyone only plays on the official maps. It just takes time for people to move to new maps.

RO2 doesn't. All new maps are released for free, plus there are free unofficial maps as well.

Not true, since I remember playing with servers of 60 or more people on unofficial maps. It could be that the videos you watched are outdated... or their creators just play on lame servers.

 

I second Bamul. I play RO2 and the most populated servers play on a mix of official and unofficial maps quite often.

Now, I've always loved Science Fiction with the pew pew lazer guns, but I haven't liked when it is exaggerated and turned into some fantasygame. Until now.
Destiny is just looking absolutely amazing. The mix of Apocalyptic and futuristic, the awesome graphics on the whole immersive world, and the awesome armor/clothing/weaponry. Plus the fact that you can actually co-op with others the entire time. The only problem is, well, I don't think it's coming for PC :'(

 

Looks and plays like diablo/borderlands and costs $450.

Did anyone play the Alpha? I did got me more excited to play it when it comes out. Love all the customization options and places to explore.

 

No, but I've heard they consider releasing on PC. Another title to seed for a century.
