I know I keep mentioning Max Payne 3, but yesterday I managed to pump loads of bullets into someone and he went down but wasn't dead. Whilst on the floor the poor guy was still trying to fire at me lol

Well actually I think there were 'natural' hitmarkers; you can barely hear a muffled thump from the projectile impact with most weapons and the enemy shouts/snarls in pain. Also, they would bleed. I would say that's the best way of doing hitmarkers and it should be kept as is.

The whole bullet sponge thing is why I found Easy harder than Hard. And it's also why I only play Metro on hard.

I tended to play on Ranger, but when I switched to the "normal" difficulties, it DID seems like some enemies were bullet sponges, even on easy.

It was kinda odd not seeing people full so fast. Gotta recommend sleath on Ranger, personally, but it's so much quicker to get people down with the air-burst weapons.

I hope LL does bring a bit more balanced to enemies.

Well I'm pretty sure a metal-magazine filled with bullets can stop a throwing knife.

  7. Actually clothing, especially winter clothing, can stop it on it's own. That's why you aim at the neck :)

And it would be bakelite and steel.

One thing I am worried about is the guys covered in armour in the train demo. It just seems weird...

  9. I'm pretty sure they will have some kind of a weak point on the back.

In typical video game fashion: a glowy pulsating yellow cyst that says 'Shoot this to win, you dumb fuck.' :D

THIS^ and in many playthroughs i've seen there are instances were there is bullet sponging going on in firefights.

Oh lord, no! :) So bad... I guess the gaps in their armor are weak points, so that might be the place to shoot. :)

Some of the "armor" in the game is really silly because I've seen bullets/knives deflect off ammo cartridges strapped to their chest. Even knives deflect off parts with no armor whatsoever, like an elbow. I've seen deflections off hoods too, no helmet on them.

These flaws should be fixed in LL I hope.

Yep with a VSV I can't seem to kill them with one head shot. Hey Komodo (sorry if I spelled that wrong) can you see if the VSV can kill a human with a head because when I'm on the frontline I can't seem to get that 1 hit head shot?

the best one and truly non-armored place to aim at would be the foot.:D

Cerberus hit the nail on the head there.

On a different note, I believe Metro 2033's inconsistency is what makes it so fun. No playthrough is ever the same, ya know?
