There's an increasing overall number of these parasites. Bots that post nonsense with links, accounts that are used for 1 post advertisements. It's slowly becoming an issue and it would be great if something was done in order to prevent it from becoming a major problem. Unfortunately, I have no idea in what way we could stop them from disrupting this forum.
I just thought of this: perhaps make it so that every new user has to have at least 20 or 30 posts on the forum before they can create new threads? It sounds harsh, however it would not only solve the issue of advertisement threads but also increase the forum's post count.
I think I've seen one bot here, and that's all. I do like Bamul's idea, though, in case it does become a major problem.
lol they are not mutants like in the metro they will come they will be banned in a case of having 10 bots Luster will have to trust someon his powers(make moderators etc) and thats it
As the site continues to grow, I will be hiring moderators to take care of this. But for now, I got it all covered.
I really have seen some good forums collapse because of attacks & advertising. But no, I wasn't being serious with them being like mutants. That's why the "xD" at the end of my post. Besides, a lot of them are bots and not humans so you can't expect them to act normal; they simply run on scripts that give them commands.
That's good to hear mate, I'm looking forward to the mod applications. Though I seem noob because I'm new here, I was previously a moderator on another Metro 2033 forum in the past; before the forum went down the drain, that is...
Can work. Might be some trouble if someone is just trolling and the other trust him (this is a look what might happen, in the future) so they vote to get him banned, when he was just doing nothing. I know that's a little bit far fetched, and Im damn sure none of you guys would do it, but just to get the bad side up there ^^ Good idea anyhow! Might need to start a thread taking up Pros/Cons with it
