Protagonist For Mass Effect: Andromeda Revealed
The recent teaser for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda may have had a significant clue about who the protagonist will be. Or more accurately, will be named.
In the teaser, a dog tag is spotted (a pic of the still shot is above), and it appears to have the name Ryder/Rider. This is believed to be a reference to Sally Ride, who was the first American woman in space. This would be a parallel to the Shepherd name, as Alan Shepherd was the first American male in space.
This was stated to also tie into the song that played during the teaser. Bioware has refused comment, but noted on Twitter:
“there are very good reasons for that choice of song for the trailer that should become clear later on”.
