by on April 26, 2016

KOEI TECMO America today officially announced the launch of the alpha demo for the dark fantasy RPG Nioh. In addition, the game will have an exclusive DLC available to players who complete a stage for the game. The Nioh demo will run from April 26 to May 5.

The Nioh demo is available for PlayStation 4 for free at the PSN Store from today until May 5. On May 6, players will no longer have access to download the alpha demo for the game. The demo features two diverse stages. The first stage is set on a small island near the village of Usuki. The player comes ashore and then encounters the remains of a fishing village that was set aflame by a mysterious invasion.

In the second stage, demons from the Yokai realm run rampant in Dazaifu, which has controlled the western regions since ancient times. The demo features three close-combat weapon classes, the spear, axe and the katana. Players can find the weapon that best suits their play style.

Players who complete one of the stages will receive The Mark of the Conqueror DLC from the PlayStation Store. This is an exclusive piece of in-game content that will be available for Nioh for the final game’s launch. The full release date and launch details for Nioh will be revealed later on. The game will be available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
