Niantic Very Sorry For Problems At Pokemon GO Fest

by on July 25, 2017

Why was the Pokemon GO Fest so bad? What did Niantic think about it?

Recently, to celebrate the love and success that Pokemon GO has had, the team at Niantic held a very special event in Chicago for players of the game to come together and catch Pokemon of very rare nature. The problem came though when the even was poorly equipped to handle the mass of people that came. There were constantly internet failures, game failures and more. To the extent that when the head of Niantic tried to talk to the people, he was booed.

Apparently though, the team at Niantic were just as mad as the players for how this went down, and released a statement saying:

“Obviously they can’t completely make it up to all the people who have come out to Chicago today, but they want to extend the fact that they’re extremely apologetic and unhappy with the process and the results. So hopefully this is something that we will never see replicated again, learn from this and move on.

Just know that the staff here are pretty horrified with the results, so they want to make good as fast as possible. I’m super sorry guys, I’m really sorry especially for everyone who travelled international, East Coast, from all over. So this clearly was not what we were hoping for today. Thanks for your patience.”

They also are taking steps to make up for those problems, you can read about that here.
