Did Mass Effect Andromeda’s Release Date Get Leaked by Amazon?! Find Out Here!

by on October 11, 2016

It appears that Destructoid may have discovered what is in fact the release date for BioWare’s next upcoming installment in the Mass Effect franchise, Mass Effect Andromeda. It appears an Amazon listing for Dark Horse Comics’ The Art of Mass Effect Andromeda actually in fact reveals the release date for the game as well.

The book is only available for pre-order now, but the official item description reads, “Dark Horse will release The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda simultaneously with the game!” The release date for the book is March 21, 2017, which suggests that Mass Effect Andromeda will in fact be released on the same date.

Of course, Electronic Arts and BioWare have not officially announced the release date or confirmed this news. So it should be taken with a grain of salt. Additionally, Amazon UK is listing the release of the book on March 23, 2017, which is two days later. It’s not uncommon for major games to be released in the Europe or UK two days after the US release.

Additionally, EA Chief Financial Office Blake Jorgensen previously stated (via IGN) that Andromeda would launch in the fourth fiscal quarter for EA, which is between January and March 2017. Essentially, the dates from Amazon and Dark Horse Comics do in fact line up with Jorgensen’s previous statements. So it’s highly likely the March 21 and March 23, 2017 dates turn out to be accurate.

Regardless, Mass Effect Andromeda is expected to launch sometime next year. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
