Check Out the New Combat Gameplay Trailer for The Surge!

Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 dropped a new trailer today for the upcoming action RPG the surge. You can check out the new footage for the upcoming game in the player below. The Surge finally arrives for a multi-platform release next month.

The new gameplay trailer showcases the game’s combat system. For The Surge, players will have to target enemy robot limbs, and then loot and equip those limbs to make new weapons. Combat requires heavy use of vertical and horizontal attacks and strike power in order to sever the limbs of the robotic enemies. Players can then loot upgrades for the protagonist’s exo-suit in order to progress throughout the world of the game and to survive the most challenging of enemy encounters.

Other elements of the combat system include the vital use of positioning and speed. Players will want to use the exo-suit’s enhanced abilities, such as dodges, blocks and jumps in order to avoid enemy attacks. Another thing they have to watch out for is monitoring their stamina. Players will have to search for enemy weak points to make them go down faster. However, players who are hit in unarmored areas will also go down faster.

Another aspect to the combat is the industrial drone. Players can use the drone to be manipulated into a fighting machine that can help them during combat. The drone can shield the players, and also it can burn, knock out, pull or blast enemies with some melee combat.

The Surge finally arrives on May 16. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
