CD Projekt Red Says No Witcher 4 Coming!

by on May 22, 2016

Despite its massive success, it appears that there will indeed not be a Witcher 4. There has been statements that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and it’s expansions Heart of Stone and the upcoming Blood and Wine were planned to be the final installments in the series, but there hasn’t been definitive confirmation. However, in an interview with Eurogamer, Marcin Iwinski confirmed that at present, Blood and Wine will be the final entry in the Witcher franchise.

“As we said before, never say never [but] right now it’s really Blood and Wine. This is the end. Blood and Wine is [the] closing and there won’t be any Witcher any time soon – if there ever will be one. And I would really like to see how people feel about it, if they will enjoy it.”

He goes on to note that Blood and Wine will not be “just another expansion”. But rather a testament to what the team at CD Projekt Red has learned while making Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

“What is important with Blood and Wine [is] it’s not just another expansion made by an external outsourced studio just to make another dollar,” Iwinski said, “and I’m not criticising this practice, I just want to prove the point that we’ve put all of our heart and emotion and lots of knowledge [into it]. All of the lessons learned from Witcher 3 [and] Hearts of Stone are in Blood and Wine.”

Blood and Wine hits consoles and PC May 31st.
